Because of its mild climate, Virgen is also called "MERAN OF EASTTYROL".

​In winter, a ski bus takes you comfortably to the " Großglockner Resort Kals/Matrei " ski area, 6 km away, with 110 km of fantastic slopes.

The Virgental not only offers an Eldorado for fans of skiing, but is also known for its wonderful cross-country ski runs. Miles of well-kept and excellent routes lead through the unique nature of the Hohe Tauern National Park.
